How to Create an Inbound Shipment

Step-by-step guide to creating inbound LTL, SPD, or Container shipments in the 3PLGuys WMS. Learn the workflow from draft to received.

Choose Your Shipment Type

Select the right method for your inbound inventory

LTL

Less Than Truckload

  • • Palletized goods
  • • 50+ cartons minimum
  • • Freight carrier

SPD

Small Parcel Delivery

  • • Individual boxes
  • • UPS/FedEx
  • • Smaller quantities

Container

Ocean Freight

  • • Full container load
  • • International imports
  • • Port delivery

Create a New Shipment

Start the shipment wizard

Click "New Shipment"

Find it in the Shipments section or use the quick action on your dashboard

Select "Inbound"

Choose the direction, then select your shipment type (LTL, SPD, or Container)

A draft shipment is created automatically. You can save and return to it anytime.

Add Items to Your Shipment

Select products and specify quantities

For Each Item:

  • • Select the Carton Type from your inventory
  • • Enter the Carton Count you're sending
  • • Units are calculated automatically

Requirements:

  • • Minimum 50 cartons for LTL shipments
  • • At least 1 item required
  • • Track completion percentage as you add items

Add Shipment Details

Provide additional information for processing

Notes

Add special handling instructions, fragile items, or hazmat details.

Number of Pallets

For LTL shipments, specify how many pallets you're sending.

Submit for Approval

Confirm your shipment and send it to the warehouse

Before Submitting, Verify:

All items are added

Carton counts are correct

Minimum carton threshold met

Special notes included

Confirm Shipment

Submit for warehouse approval

Save Draft

Return and edit later

Submit shipments 24-48 hours before arrival for faster processing
