What Is Pick and Pack Fulfillment?
Pick and pack is the operational heart of e-commerce fulfillment: retrieving ordered items from warehouse storage (picking) and preparing them for shipment (packing). Every online order you've ever received went through a pick and pack process — the difference between brands is how fast and how accurately it happens.
Outsourced pick and pack services replace your garage, spare room, or self-run warehouse with a professional operation: barcoded inventory, WMS-directed pick paths, scan verification, negotiated carrier rates, and staff that scales with your volume. You keep control of your brand and channels; the physical work happens in our building.
Picking methods, matched to your order profile
- Discrete picking: One order picked at a time. Best for low volumes, fragile goods, or high-value products.
- Batch picking: One picker collects items for many orders in a single pass. The workhorse method for high-volume D2C.
- Wave picking: Picks released in timed waves aligned to carrier pickup schedules — maximizes same-day throughput.
- Zone picking: Pickers own zones of the warehouse; orders move between zones. Best for large, multi-SKU catalogs.

Pick and pack vs. kitting
Pick and pack fulfills orders as they come in — each order picked from individual SKUs. Kitting services pre-assemble multiple items into a single new SKU (gift sets, bundles, subscription boxes) before orders arrive, which cuts per-order labor for predictable bundles. Most of our clients use both: kitted bundles for their best-selling sets, pick and pack for everything else.

The usual triggers: you're spending more than 2 hours a day packing orders, storage is overtaking your space, shipping costs are climbing without negotiated rates, or order mistakes are generating support tickets.
