Unlike standard e-commerce fulfillment where items ship in boxes via UPS or FedEx Ground, large item fulfillment requires LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight carriers, loading dock equipment, forklifts, and trained personnel who understand proper heavy handling techniques. The process involves different packaging requirements, freight classification, and delivery coordination including liftgate service and white-glove options.

LTL Freight Shipping

Items over 150 lbs or exceeding parcel carrier dimensions must ship via LTL freight. We work with major freight carriers including UPS Freight, FedEx Freight, SAIA, XPO, Estes, ABF, and regional carriers to find the best combination of transit time and cost for each shipment.

Proper freight classification is critical. Each product receives an NMFC (National Motor Freight Classification) code based on density, stowability, handling, and liability. Incorrect classification leads to billing corrections and surprise charges. Our team analyzes your products to ensure accurate classification from the start.

For residential deliveries, we coordinate liftgate service (lowering items to ground level without a loading dock) and inside delivery (bringing items past the threshold). These services are essential for furniture and appliance brands serving consumers.
