Quick Answer

3PLGuys offers pallet storage in Los Angeles from a 250,000 sqft facility in Paramount, CA — 15 minutes from the Port of Long Beach. Selective racking, deep-lane racking, floor storage, and ambient/climate-controlled options. Rates typically run $18-$35 per pallet per month depending on storage type, volume, and contract length. Same-week move-in available. Contracts range from month-to-month to multi-year.

Pallet Storage Configurations

Four storage options optimized for different inventory profiles. Mix and match based on SKU velocity and product characteristics.

Selective Racking

Single-deep pallet positions with direct forklift access to every pallet. Ideal for diverse SKU mixes, FIFO/FEFO rotation, and brands with varied turnover velocities.

Direct access · FIFO/FEFO · Best for 50+ SKUs

Deep-Lane Racking

2-4 pallets deep storage lanes. Maximizes density for high-velocity SKUs with consistent inventory levels. Lower per-pallet cost when volume justifies the configuration.

High density · 2-4 deep · Best for fast-movers

Floor Storage

Open floor space for oversized pallets, non-standard dimensions, or seasonal overflow. Includes designated zones with WMS-tracked positions.

Flexible · Oversized · Seasonal overflow

Climate-Controlled

Ambient (60-75°F) and refrigerated storage for temperature-sensitive goods. Required for peptides, certain cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and FDA-regulated products.

60-75°F · FDA-registered · Cold chain capable

How to Choose the Right Pallet Storage

Pallet storage decisions affect cost per unit, accessibility, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency for years. The right configuration depends on three factors: SKU velocity (how fast inventory turns), SKU count (how many distinct products), and stackability (can pallets stack on each other).

When to use selective racking

Selective racking gives every pallet its own accessible position. It costs more per pallet position but enables true FIFO/FEFO rotation and instant access to any SKU. Best for:

  • Brands with 50+ active SKUs and varied turnover rates
  • Lot-coded products requiring strict rotation (food, beverage, supplements, peptides)
  • Operations with frequent inventory adjustments or cycle counts
  • Mixed pick patterns (full pallet, case, and each picking from the same inventory)

When to use deep-lane racking

Deep-lane racking stores 2-4 pallets behind each other in the same lane. It packs more inventory per square foot but limits access to whichever pallet is at the front of the lane. Best for:

  • High-velocity SKUs where multiple pallets of the same product cycle through quickly
  • Brands with 5-20 dominant SKUs that drive most volume
  • Operations where reducing storage cost per pallet matters more than instant access
  • Bulk inventory holding (seasonal builds, promotional buys, safety stock)

When to use floor storage and block stacking

Floor storage and block stacking eliminate racking entirely. Pallets sit on the floor or stack on each other directly. Best for:

  • Oversized pallets that don't fit standard racking (large equipment, furniture, oversized consumer goods)
  • Stable, stackable products with high volume (bagged goods, boxed kitchen items, certain CPG)
  • Seasonal overflow where temporary capacity matters more than long-term efficiency
  • Cross-dock operations where inventory only sits briefly before outbound shipping

Temperature-controlled storage

Temperature-controlled pallet storage is required for any product with FDA, USP, or manufacturer-specified storage conditions. This includes:

  • Climate-controlled (60-75°F): Nutraceuticals, supplements, cosmetics with active ingredients, peptides (lyophilized), chocolate, certain electronics
  • Refrigerated (35-46°F): Reconstituted peptides, certain pharmaceuticals, perishable consumer goods
  • Frozen storage: Not currently offered onsite — partner network available

Our facility is FDA-registered and operates documented temperature monitoring with continuous data logging, alarms for out-of-range events, and chain-of-custody documentation for regulated products.

Pricing model

Pallet storage pricing has three components:

  • Storage: Per pallet position per month. Varies by storage type, contract length, and total volume. Range: $18-$35/pallet/month for ambient selective racking; deep-lane and floor storage typically run lower.
  • Handling: Receiving (per pallet or per container), put-away, picking, replenishment. Per-transaction pricing with volume tiers.
  • Value-added services: Labeling, kitting, QC, repackaging, retail compliance work. Quoted per service.

We provide custom quotes based on your projected pallet count, storage type mix, expected handling volumes, and contract length. Longer contracts and higher volumes earn meaningful price reductions and dedicated capacity guarantees.
